ITV to launch dedicated drama channel, will you pay to watch?

Downton Abbey and Broadchurch are among the string of successes ITV has enjoyed on its free-to-air channels. Now the broadcaster hopes to build upon this by introducing a new drama-only pay channel.

In an attempt to free itself from a dependence upon normal TV advertising, ITV Encore will be available to Sky subscribers.

The London 2012 Olympic Games helped to partly salvage a disappointing night for Britain at this year's 65th annual Emmy Awards.
