Business Secretary Vince Cable is set to unveil a £133 million investment in the vehicle manufacturing sector, as part of a project to build next generation engines when he visits a Ford factory in Essex on Wednesday.
The funding will go to the Consortia group, led by car manufacturer Ford, automotive components firm GKN, engine specialists Cummins and digger builders JCB, to develop engines that have better fuel efficiency and reduced carbon emissions.
